Getting Here By bike

Our favourite way to travel!

Routes

Group cycles

  • Official group cycles will leave Oxford main train station on Friday 21st June at midday, 5.30pm and 7pm. With a return cycle back to Oxford at 6pm on the Sunday 23rd June.
  • These will be led by experienced cyclists with kit.
  • If you’ve lots of gear, arrive in time to put some luggage on our festival shuttle buses (see below) for £2. You can pay on the day.
  • Join our Facebook Cycling to Tandem group for updates.
  • It’s your responsibility to bring appropriate clothing, helmet and lights.
  • Our cycle ride leaders will go at the pace of the slowest rider, but remember that it is an hour long cycle from Oxford train station.
  • Cyclist & pedestrians will share the same entrance as cars. We’ll make clear, signed divisions to keep everyone safe and please drive with care whilst sharing the road with other road users.
  • There will be sufficient space for you to park & lock your bike safely.
  • We are encouraging everyone to ride to Tandem Festival. Some will be cycling over 500 miles to attend!

Festival Shuttle Bus and Public Transport

  • All bus pick ups and drops offs to Tandem Festival site, depart and return from either Oxford main train station OX1 1HS or Charlbury train station OX7 3HH. Please ensure that you allow enough time to board the bus.
  • We advise that you arrive at least 15 minutes early, as buses will depart promptly at the times shown.
  • Bus tickets can be purchased in advance online.  If you buy your ticket in advance, please bring proof of purchase with you when boarding a bus.
  • Tickets will be available to buy on the bus, only if there are seats available.
  • If travelling by rail to Charlbury Station, please use the train timetables to plan your journey so you arrive in good time to catch the festival shuttle bus (at the bus times indicated below).
  • The ‘minibus’ has capacity for 16-20 passengers (including a few standing), and the ‘big bus’ has capacity for 40 passengers seated, with another 20 or so standing.

Getting Here By car / van

  • As part of our eco-friendly ethos, we encourage you to keep car use to a minimum or use an alternative mode of transport (public transport or cycling!).
  • If you need to drive or would like a lift, check out our festival car share page- COMING SOON.
  • Cyclists & pedestrians will share the same entrance as cars. We’ll make clear, signed divisions to keep everyone safe and please drive with care whilst sharing the road with other road users.
  • There will be sufficient space for you to park but you will need to purchase a parking pass. This can be purchased via We Got Tickets at point of festival ticket purchase.
  • Parking is free for people with mobility problems – please get in touch.  Blue Badge holders automatically get free parking, no need to book in advance

Camper Vans

  • There are camper van parking spaces, and camper van parking tickets are available too.
